One of my friends grew up thinking that Christians were just “weird”.
He thought: “How can a 21st-century human being in their right senses be a…what is it called again? Yeah, Christian. That. How can a normal person be that?!”
But when he got into the university, he met many “really friendly” and “joyful” people who claimed to be Christians. He thought these students were quite different from the rest of the students on campus. They seemed really “content,” even with all the crazy uni challenges.
Some semesters later, my friend went home for a break.
What his mum saw on the outside was the result of what had happened on the inside. He had found the same joy, peace, and contentment he had first noticed in those students, not because life became easier, but because he had met Jesus and become a part of God’s family.
And that same change and new life is available to anyone. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just have to be willing to come to Jesus honestly.
If you would like to welcome Jesus into your heart, you can pray this prayer:
If you prayed this prayer, I’d encourage you to reach out to a Bible-believing Church near you. They would love to help you grow in your new faith.
Welcome to God’s family,
Sam.

He said, “Yeah, I lost weight, didn’t I? That’s uni life.”

She said, “No, not that, I mean, you seem different.”
He said, “Oh, I know, I seem weird, right?”
He said, “Oh, I know, I seem weird, right?”
She said, “Not at all, in fact, you seem joyful and content.”
He said, “It’s funny you should say that, I became a Christian at uni…”

Lord Jesus,
I know that I have sinned and need Your forgiveness.
I believe You died and rose again to save me.
I turn away from my sins and ask You to forgive me.
(confess what comes to mind and ask Him to forgive you)
Please come into my heart and be the Lord of my life.

Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. Amen.
